This site was designed out of the real need to give good information to Nepal’s tourists. Often because of language or cultural barriers, communication can be difficult or somehow misleading. As a Westerner who is married to a Nepali, and part of a Nepali family and community, I feel passionate about building a bridge between my home country of Nepal and my fellows from other countries around the world.
It is important to me that you get good information. As the owner of two Himalayan adventure companies, Hardcore Nepal (P.) Ltd and TREKT Himalaya, LLC, I see first hand where things are going great and where things can be improved in terms of tourist information. So, I hope you find this information useful. I try my best to leave out any covert propoganda and be transparent about my likes, dislikes and opinions. These are my opinions, and mine only. But I hope you find my suggestions useful and helpful. If you book with one of the companies I recommend, then great, if not then I hope you will share information about other great companies in Nepal on this site and elsewhere. Good people deserve credit!
I started this site for two reasons: 1) I saw too much misinformation or confusion surrounding our tourist communications and 2) I got an overwhelming response to my travelpod.com post “I wish I would have known before I came to Nepal…” which is reprinted under “Nepal Travel Tips” on this site.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions about Nepal. I hope your stay in our Himalayan paradise will be a trip of a lifetime! Namaste.
